M-classes at Salaam Film Festival
In connection with their classes in social studies and media, the students from 1m and 2m took part in a showing of the film 'Promised Land' at the Salaam Film Festival held at the Danish National Museum on 26 November. The classes follow the specialised study programme Middle East and Europe.
The film tells the story of a small group of Iranian refugees who are stranded by the seaport of Calais in France and their attempts at reaching the English coast just 35 kilometers away.
The instructor and artist Nicolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen was present at the showeng. He told the students about the making of the movie as well as the subject immigration as it relates to the Europe many immigrants hope to reach and the actual Europe they find.
