GUIDELINES:
Making good subject choices in the IB Diploma programme
When you read our application form, you will come across the following stipulation: “Your Subject Choices are binding for the duration of the 2 year IB DP course”.
Consequently, it is very important that you make good subject choices. This means thinking ahead in terms of what you think you may want to study after the IB Diploma Programme and inquiring about university stipulations.

STUDYING IN DENMARK
If you intend to study in Denmark, you need to be aware of the fact that Danish Further and Higher Educational institutions often have general entrance requirements, as well as specific (subject, and/or subject level) requirements. Do inquire with the respective institution to get updated information about their respective requirement. Please note: Danish is a requirement for all programmes taught in Danish, but not for programmes taught in English.

Specific Requirements for most Humanities Programmes
English – Fulfilled by all three levels of English offered in the IB DP at Nørre Gymnasium. Please note: English B HL in the IB is equivalent to “Engelsk A” in Stx.

Danish – If you want to be completely sure that you will fulfil the requirements, you need to take either Danish A HL or Danish A SL. Some educational institutions currently accept Danish B HL (if you put in a written dispensation application). There is also the possibility of fulfilling the requirements by taking a Danish exam called “Studieprøven”.

Disclaimer - The specific requirements are liable to change and the conversion can differ from institution to institution. For overall guidelines on how IB subject levels equal subject levels in “Stx”, please see here. Please be aware that each institution ultimately decides how to convert your IB subjects and levels in relation to their specific requirements. So, you should always first check the specific requirements of individual programmes at www.ug.dk and then double check the requirements with the relevant educational institution itself.
