The IB Diploma Programme at Nørre G

The two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of studies that meets the needs of  highly motivated secondary school students between the ages of 16 and 19 years.

The diploma curriculum is displayed in the shape of a hexagon with six academic areas surrounding the core. See: The IB Hexagon - and links to the IB subjects at Nørre G

The subjects offered at NØRRE G are shown in this hexagon (IB schools often vary in their offer of subjects). Subjects are studied concurrently, and students are exposed to both the humanities and the sciences. International curriculum planners are constantly reviewing and revising the syllabi in the subjects to ensure that contents and assessment methods are up-to-date.

Diploma Requirements

For further information, see:
The IB Hexagon - and links to the IB subjects at Nørre G

Diploma candidates are required to select one subject from each of the six subject groups. Three of these must be taken at higher level (HL), the others at standard level (SL). HL courses are taught 5 lessons per week in each of the two years, SL courses 3 lessons per week each year. The distribution requirements ensure that the science-oriented student is challenged to learn a foreign language, and that the natural linguist becomes familiar with laboratory procedures.
