Application
Pre-IB/1i at NØRRE G is an offer to internationally mobile students, notably foreign students living in Denmark and Danes returning after several years in schools abroad, as well as Danish students who transfer from the folkeskole.
There are no tutorial or examination fees.
Admission to the pre-IB/1i programme requires completion of grade 10 in Anglo-American types of secondary school programmes or the 9th or 10th grade in the Danish folkeskole – or equivalent - with excellent academic results. Since both teaching and examinations are conducted in English, it is vital that applicants are proficient in English and preferably also have some knowledge of Danish.
Applicants must use the special pre-IB application form which is available on the Nørre G homepage. Forms must be returned by post (hardcopy), email via pdf-files, or fax before 1 March along with copies of the latest grades (report card), a statement from the present school describing the applicant’s academic and social qualities, a copy of the applicant’s CPR-number (sygesikringsbevis) and copy of the valid residence permit status, and an A4-page with the applicant’s own hand-written presentation, also elaborating on the reasons why he/she wishes to embark on an international education.
Admission criteria: See below
Late applications can only be considered if there are vacancies.
NB!
The selection of candidates for admission is based on the latest grades and the statement from the previous school which should focus on the applicant’s ability to meet the rigorous academic demands of the IB programme after completion of the pre-IB. Applicants may also be asked to come for an interview at the IB coordinator’s office.
All applicants will be informed about the outcome of their application by the end of April. Successful candidates will receive relevant information about the school, introduction programme etc. well in advance of the beginning of the new academic year in August. Further information is available from IB coordinator Jutta Rüdiger.
